The California High-Speed Rail Authority is developing an 800-mile high-speed
train system that will operate at speeds of up to 220 miles per hour, connecting
the state’s major urban centers. Design and construction is beginning in the Central
Valley, the backbone of the system. Initial Construction Segment 1, the first phase
of the project, extends approximately 29 miles from southern Madera County to the
City of Fresno.
CHS Consulting Group is part of the Tutor-Perini/Zachry/Parsons design-build team for
Initial Construction Segment 1 of California’s High Speed Rail system. CHS is designing
traffic signals at 13 intersections in the City of Fresno, and street lighting for
7 corridors within the project limits. As the project proceeds, CHS will design traffic
signals for as many as 18 additional intersections and street lighting for up to 13
additional corridors, all in the City of Fresno.
